We believe in saving lives and the delivery of transparent services because our donors deserve to know how their funds impact lives in the field.
When armed conflicts arise or natural disasters strike, the impacts affect our world at a human level; communities are stricken, families are displaced, and the day-to-day life, as well as the course of an individual's long-term prospects, can be severely disrupted. When huge numbers of people are affected by such phenomena, we respond by offering relief thereby mitigating the suffering and subsequent loss of life. This is the principal aim of our humanitarian relief program.
The Foundation runs a range of projects aimed at meeting people’s basic needs and assisting recovery efforts. It’s hugely important that populations hit by disasters or conflicts receive humanitarian aid. Our relief efforts offer the following:
Our assistance is provided as close to the community of refugees and affected individuals to ensure timely access to resources and to reduce the need for dangerous travel that sometimes exposes them to further abuses. Our humanitarian relief work builds local capacity as part of our response to reduce reliance on international assistance and allow communities that are affected by conflicts and disasters to better help themselves. Effective capacity building means in future humanitarian aid can be delivered by local actors.
